Twenty20 Fans in for a Treat.....

I was watching the Twenty20 Big Bash 2009 and realized that the quality of cricket is really good and the crowd turnout also was pretty decent. This would mean that the Australian Cricketers have their own domestic version of IPL which would get global viewership with international Twenty20 stars like Ross Taylor, Shahid Afridi, Kiron Polard Naved-ul-Hassan also participating in it.

The fact that there are not too many domestic teams in Australia really helps as the quality of local players is also very good and each team, apart from the current stars, would have at least 3 players who at some point of time would have represented Australia at the highest level. For eg. David Hussey, Tim Paine, Jason Krejza, Brad Hodge, Shaun Tait, A. McDonald, James Hopes etc. In addition quite a few players would be known thanks to their stints in IPL somebody like a Quiney, Ronchi, Harris, Carseldine will also be known to the viewers.

To add to the positives is the lush green outfield and the really good Australian tracks which are a real treat to the eyes...

Now James Sutherland, the chief executive of Cricket Australia has announced that the Big Bash will not clash with international season in future. This would mean the Stars of Australia would be available for The Big Bash in 2010.

Well all you Twenty20 Cricket Fans are in for a Treat next year as the IPL and The Big Bash are the two tournaments to watch out for.

Enjoy your Cricket............
